Ukrainians required to provide fingerprints to get long-term German visas, says Foreign Ministry

Germany is to request biometric data from Ukrainian applicants for long-term visas, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

According to the German Embassy in Ukraine, with a view to implementing the amendments to visa and immigration legislation adopted by Germany, the country will introduce, starting from January 24, 2013, the procedure of taking biometric data from applicants for German national long-term visas.

The applicants will be asked to submit their fingerprints, the press service said.
