The EU will not prohibit the entry of Ukrainians with old passports, - foreign Ministry
Ukrainians and in the future will be able to enter the EU member-countries on the basis of a valid travel passport.
the Press-Secretary of foreign Ministry of Ukraine Alexander Dikusarov said that citizens of Ukraine will go to the countries-members of the EU on the basis of a valid passport (without the requirement that he was biometric) before the introduction of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU.
«In accordance with the existing in the EU, the requirements of the Ukrainian citizens and in the future will be able to enter the EU member-countries on the basis of a valid passport (without the requirement that he was biometric) and a valid visa», - he said at the briefing, informs UKRINFORM.
Äèêóñàðîâ explained that approved in the EU legislation provides that citizens shall crossing of external borders of the EU on the basis of a valid travel document and, when available, if required, a visa.
«Common in some Ukrainian mass media the information on the alleged introduction of the European Union on 1 June 2013 requirements on the citizens of third States biometric travel document does not correspond to reality», - stressed Dikusarov.
Also, the press-Secretary of foreign Ministry recalled that the requirement on introduction in Ukraine of biometric travel documents for departure abroad is contained in the action Plan for the liberalization of the European Union visa regime for Ukrainian citizens.
Earlier the author of the law on biometric passports, the people's Deputy from the Party of regions Vasily Gritsak, said that from 1 June 2013 Ukrainians can not allowed in EU countries without new documents.
As is known, on November 29, President Viktor Yanukovych signed the law.
