Ukrainian President ratifies the simplification of the visa regime with the EU

The Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed the Law On Ratification of the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Amendments to the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Simplification of Visa Granting.

According to the Agreement the the Schengen visas under the simplified procedure can be issued to drivers working on international routes, technical crew accompanying journalists, students, members of the religious, civil and charity organizations, relatives of the EU citizens, persons who travel to the EU for treatment and persons who accompany them. 

Journalists and businessmen can obtain multiple Schengen visas for five years, persons who work in the area of culture and science, participators of international sport competitions and accompanying persons, participators of international exchange programs between sister cities and the relatives of the EU residents can obtain multiple Schengen visas for a year.

All the listed persons under the age of 25 will be free of consular fees for visas. The owners of the biometric passports won’t need visas to visit the EU countries.
